The last train out of town hall station leaves at 1:45 in the morning
I jump in and grab a seat just before they give the fifteen minute warning
Two boys walk by chomping on their late night burritos
Talking about the girls they almost had
Least they've got each other tonight and they tried
Maybe next Saturday won't go so bad
Women that look like my mother
Sleeping on the seats
Kids without a home it looks seem
For a minute off the streets
A teenager writes graffiti on the wall
But we're too tired to say anything at all

The houses lights dot the flat land like stars at night in one of those old cowboy movies
I heard working class man in a convenience store today
And it's still stuck in my head
The graffiti is starting to dry I must sound tired as I let out a sigh
But it's just I feel so content
The baby that'd stopped crying starts crying again
His mum wakes up unready for the second wind
And I wonder if when the baby thinks it's with an Australian accent.
