New Year's Eve in bed with a song in my head Everybody's out and having fun Up here I'm the only one Restless soul caught in frozen bones I would love to leave but I'm not allowed The classic fear of missing out Scenes of the past year are flashing by Randomly across my inner eye A hundred different faces talk to me and all the while I trade those first world problems for a smile I'm a lucky guy Full moon high up in the sky Has been lighting up the rooftops and the trees For a million centuries Looking out all over town Somehow I still can't seem to understand Just how a year comes to an end How's it even possible we're living here On this rocky thing wrapped in an atmosphere I should stop to think and start to take it all in stride Leave those first world problems far behind I'm a lucky guy
