As a child I played hockey Idolised the ponies underneath The saddles plain And shoulders warring our country Into night Took a branch and then a ball Found the greenest apple and carved and arrow And saw it grow And foraged into the forest without fear Spied a bird with fragile wings Cut a piece for balance, never more these passings Tell me why does it worry this so much? Worry this so much Threw a shower to set her free Tried to bend the arrow back into embroidery But then her motor was bright in Needle string Cried and tried to make her breathe Bath the sky the bird one Thousand birds in every tree So I could let mother find her Rain on me How to be a harmless man I only wish to understand the power in my hands Well time will show that a one man, come Again Took apprentice as a slave Even angels wish to clip their wings and make mistakes That oh, the apples get sweeter every year Sweeter every year
